Community - The Local Interest Group

Local Interest Group

The Painscastle and Rhosgoch Local Interest Group was formed in 2014 and now regularly attracts an attendance of about fifteen to twenty persons. The creation of the Group also led directly to the launch of this web site, which was seen as a logical and necessary outcome of the work of the Group.

The Group is an informal gathering of local residents with a common interest in the local history and folklore of Painscastle and Rhosgoch and the surrounding area. Members of the Group are encouraged to research items of interest to themselves and findings are then shared with other members.
Activities include informal lectures, visits to properties and places of interest and the reminiscences of individual members and other persons invited to address the Group. Further advice on research resources and techniques is available.

The Group meets on the last Thursday of each month. Meetings start at 19:30 and usually take place at the Community Hall, Painscastle (on right after Pentre Farm), unless we have arranged a special outing. There is plenty of parking nearby and refreshments are available. Please also see the detailed
Notes of previous Group meetings.

For further information please contact Maureen Lloyd by telephone on 01497 851609 or by
email .
